Description

Impressive large-growing catfish, with banner-like dorsal fin and bold colour pattern. Ideal for community tanks containing larger species. Provide some hiding places. They are commonly found in the lakes of the Great Rift Valley, making it a great addition for Rift Lake Tanks. The breeding catfish lay their eggs in the spawning area of mouth brooding cichlids, where the cichlids pick up the catfish eggs and brood them in their mouths.  As a result, this interesting catfish is sometimes called the “Cuckoo Cat”.
